bpm counter for numark axis 8

ive been practising on the axis 8 system and i notice that its really hard to mix certain trax cause the bpm counter jumps too much too fast... ie: im mixing at 135 and all of a sudden it drops to 132 and then up to 137 really fast and i have to sit there watching...

is there any thing that allows you to set it so if i put it at 135.3 itll stay at 135.3 without moving... unless i change it of course...

thanx in advance

use your ears. by the sound of it, you are relying solely on the beat counter... beat counters should only be used as a saftey net. if you get acustomed(sp?) to having them at most times you might become dependant. if you become dependant, the wost case scenario would be, "you are asked to play out, and you get there and realize theres no beat counters"

also, beat counters arent that good of a saftey net either. they only pick up spikes in the low, and low-mid ranges.... so if the track is a break-beat, or thers just alot goin on in the low ranges, the counter will register more, or less beats than are actully happening and throw you off.
