how did you guys like it? how was it compared to last year? |
Being the trance and house fan that I am, I wasn't impressed by the music either. To be honest though, I wasn't expecting to be. I found that they were spinning the best sets down by the beach on the very left edge of the park. I heard quite a few tracks that really had me going. Unfortunatley, that area was probably THE WORST place in the park as far as dancing is concerned. The ground was a sloped sand and gravel mixture that had larger stones sporadically laid about. I danced pretty hard, fell on my ass twice but just got back up and continued to dance. I didn't really care, I just wanted to have fun!
I also roamed about a good bit of the time, venturing from tent to tent. I caught a little bit of Green Velvet, a little Jimmy Van M, and then Scott Henry's set at the very end. Everyone loves Scott. He's just such a nice guy and he certainly knows how to work the crowd.
I managed to strike up a few conversations as I took a nice breather. I wound up sitting on the wall along the edge of the water for about an hour, and in that time I talked to two girls from Philly, a guy and his girlfriend from North Carolina, and then a group of New Yorkers. The dude from NC was a trance-head and expressed the same yearning as I did.
It was just nice to be a part of such a well planned, well orchestrated event.
The vibe was second to none!
