Layla,
thanks for the support!!
to the rest of you los angeles locals,
I've actually been confirmed to open or close the MAIN ROOM at the PALACE on August 3 so I'm really happy about that.
As far as my set goes, I closed my eyes and took a little risk and opened up my set with System F-Needlejuice, not a bad response, I think most of them were just a bit confused but once they started in-voluntarily moving their heads I knew I made a right decision (you know remixes on this will be out soon! can't wait!) then followed it up with "sound of goodbye", the tribal remix, a few songs later I was at Ayumi Hamasaki-far away (rank 1 remix)(thank god for cd's, something I could never get on vinyl), then some time later I had to try out "Sureal-always on my mind", it's one of those tunes you just fall in love with at first sight, oops I mean at first listening, any how I got into Mauro Picotto's "verdi" then some, then some, then some, then cheesed it up a bit with an old one Gentleman Dick -"reflex your mind"cj stone remix, and everything was just gravy from there.
Oh and by the way, that fridge -"mystery" tune is simply brilliant, got some hands in the air and cheer even in the terrace (patio), not bad for a tune at it's first test drive, thank goodness for my cd deck cuz I'd be waiting another month or two for it's vinyl release, at least here in the states.
anyhow, hopefully I can meet some of you on August 3, I'll be presenting the best and latest and newest tunes of the moment and for sure, never the same set but always JUST AS GOOD.
thanks TRANCEADDICTS and keep banging the drums!!!!!!

According to their website I guess it is, I'd like to go but I need to rest up a bit. Wonder how they are like.

Damn! I wish I would have known earlier. I'll still try and get by there, though.

Also, I'd like to add that 250 cd's of my mix was handed out, it was TAILOR MADE to fit the liking of your normal listener but at the same time,I did not want to use the same old tunes that other local dj's were canning.
Please keep in mind, I would've like to go a bit deeper and more progressive but your average listener is not ready for that YET.....
Anyhow here's the tracklisting, ready?
1- Sandra-Secretland (peter ries ultra violet remix)
I chose this as my first tune cuz I know it will touch a few of the old european/italo hi nrg disco die hards out there, stuff I grew up on. If you know this tune from the past, you know what I'm all about.
Sandra, wife of michael cretu, the man behind Enigma, remixed by Peter ries, part of Tillman Uhrmacher's team, the people behind "bassfly" and "free" and "autumn", NEED I SAY MORE?
2- Estate - Porcini (Joh Joh Remix)
This one has that nice melodic FLEX, not to overbearing but just enough to keep you on our toes. Add the "crowd cheering element" to the breakdown and your set for the next tune.
3- Miss Distress X vs Kaylab - Clubbing
Small breakdown, strong sharp synthesizers under a nice lead synthesizer, nice basssline, massively tweaked vocal. Very unique if you ask me.
4- Utah Saints - Lost Vagueness (Oliver Lieb Remix)
everyone knows this tune by now right? What better to follow up a tweaked vocal by another even more massively tweaked vocal? Add the bongos element, eerie melodic top, and what do you get? OLIVER LIEB.
5- Lightforce - Join Me (club remix)
Old, yes I know but for some reason it just got released or a re-release here in the states, either way its a tune sure to please everyone. Everyone likes piano's right?
6- Beam And Yanou - On Y Va
Very old but I think this has to be their best work. Very piercing melodic lead, I'm a bit tired of it myself but it's sure to hit home for someone's first listening.
7- Cosmic Gate - Fire Wire (club remix)
recently, remixes of this minimal tune has been released but the club remix still stands out above the rest, That minimal element is what made it so unique and interesting, so here it is.
8- System F Feat. Marc Almond - Soul on Soul (original album remix)
You all know this. I wanted to have at least 4 vocals in my set, and at least 1 male vocal, so here it is. I can say this is tried and tested because everyone from the hardocore tranceheads to the un-informed 102.7 KIIS listener loves this tune.
9- Freezer - I Just Follow (Sean Dexter Remix)
This is the Sean Dexter remix with the "Galaxia" melody behind it. It's old but it's just simply brilliant. If you don't know this one, KNOW IT. Let's see, Now I got 2 female vocals, 1 vocoded female vocal and 1 male vocal. That should be enough for a set no?
10- Sunbeam - Do It (Original)
This is one of those tunes that grabs you at it's first listening, a bit on the harder side but I think your average listener can dig this.
Hopefully..... , DO IT, DO IT!
11- Flutlicht - Icarus (Original Daedalus Remix)
A mightly stormer of a tune, How can I not include this right?
12- Dj Crack - Singular (Unix Club Remix)
This is on the harder side of trance, it's a bit confusing, and it took me more than one listening to really find the goodness of it all but when you do, HOW SWEET IT IS. Your average listener is gonna be a bit confused when he/she first hears this but soon they will find themselves loving it. I'd like to see this one get as big as "sandstorm". What a challenge eh?
13- Tillman Uhrmacher feat. Peter Ries - Free (Marc n Ace Remix)
What better way to end a set than with a melodic stormer, It's sure to leave a mark in your musical mind. Hmm, I started it off with a Peter Ries remix and ended it with a Peter Ries tune, didn't even notice it till now, what a coincidence. A friend of mine once looked me in the eye, and said "you know which tune I really felt? It was -FREE-" And I know he did, I mean really feel it, so here it is.
ready to press play and listen to the mixset all over again? I hope so.
