Read This! New MIDI Interface For Virus C??

Im after a new MIDI interface guys, to go with a second hand Virus C. I currently have a SB Audigy and from other threads say, they the latency is terrible with good hardware.

Im looking into an audiophile usb external or maybye the 2496 PCI model. Read somewhere that the usb model doesnt need as much cpu as its not on a bus (ie motherboard).

Anyone have these products, if so can u give me some points about them and info

Thanx guys

Moon

Well latency issues normally occur with soft-synths as apposed to hard synths. Latency won't be changed by getting a new midi interface though. Latency is in the sound card.

I run an audiophile and a Virus C and it works fine. I don't notice any latency, but its midi, there is no latency, except for the time it takes the audio signal to go through the wires and to the speakers.

Your other option is to get something like the delta 44 and then get a seperate midi interface, like a midi sport or something. This way, if you want to get more hardware in the future, you won't have to upgrade, as the audiophile only has one midi in/out.
