He used to be overrated. Im sure a lot of people think hes better than he is, but years ago a lot of people were saying he was the best player in the world which isnt true. Strangely the thing that makes me think hes just that bit better than van nistelrooy is his technique. The way he can just slot a ball into the bottom corner from 18 yards, and his dribbling and creativity r a bit better than rvns. But i think van nistelrooy is better from close range.

speed, speed, speed. finishing. teamwork. this guy is really great to see playing, and moves the Arsenal team completely. why isn't he ever mentioned as one of the best strikers/forwards in the world? maybe he's that popular in UK but not around here.
I'll let the real discussion for the experts |
Id say henry is definitely 1 of the most overrated players in the epl, at least in the english newspapers and on tv. Good teamwork yes but hes only a bit faster than rvn, his finishing doesnt come close to rvns, and hes nowhere near as good at dribbling as some people say. He rarely goes past people through good footwork, he just runs past them.
Of course it will always differ depending on what papers u read and what tv channels u have but from what im hearing, patrick vieira is probably the most overrated player in the world. Before the start of this season rodney marsh said he thought he was the best midfielder in the world Hes good but he isnt that good.
Also michael owen, rivaldo, patrick kluivert, david beckham, alan shearer, cristiano ronaldo (he hasnt impressed me at all yet).
Underrated: joaquin, simao, damien duff, paul scholes

Ive always thought Micheal Owen was overrated
and Duff underrated
Wudnt say Shearer is overrated. Maybe now coz hes old, but hes always been a consistant goal scorer. No other striker has scored 30 plus goals in a season in the premiership 3 years on the run. Ive always wondered how many more he wud have scored if he ended up at a place like Man Utd instead of goin Newcastle

underated by fifa: Michael Owen <- but rightly rated in Europe
underated by Fifa: Paolo Maldini <- but rightly rated in Europe, I hope he wins FIFA world player of the year even though its late in his career.
underated: Steven Gerrard
Overated by FIFA & the world: Ronaldo, though rightly criticised, by a fair majority.

Henry is fuckign amazing. If you watch the EPL week in week out, if he and Viera are both on form then Arsenal imo are the best team in the world to watch. They're movement, skill, techneque, i have not seen a team who can rip a team apart as Arsenal can. Yes Henry has pace, but that alone doesnt make you a great footballer. Jean Claude Darchville, who used to play for Nottm Forest was clocked as the fastest player in the english premier league about3 years ago...where is he now? who the fuck cares lol. Henry is also a honest player, he rarely goes down under a challenge and tries to score when he can, even if he is being clattered down. A good example of that is in last years FA Cup, i think against southampton? in the first few minutes, their defender lunged in and all henry had to do is fall over, the bloke would have been red carded and a penalty awared, he went on to have his shot saved i think, but it is very rare nowadays where the thirst for players scoring goals takes over their ability to, imo, cheat! He is rated fairly in england, but underated in Europe, but the thing is, its only my opinion.
Owen is top class, check is scoring record for england! He is going to beat the goals scored for england by far, and he will do it before he reacher 28, which is supposed to be prime age for football players.
Liverpool need to be more in the Champions League for Gerrard to be more recognised, but he is definately world class, in every game he has played for england, we've never lost, coincidence?mmmmm...
Duff will not become underated now he at Chelsea.
Underated players - John O'shea, Beatie (still), Anelka (on his present form, he is the best striker in the EPL!) and John Terry. I don't really watch too much European football, apart from Spanish to be really accurate on prospects from other countries, but i know Saviola is supposed to be mint!

Ok, Ronaldo isnīt that good, but he is efficient. I think that the worst over-rated was Rivaldo, he suck and only got a good time in europe, i donīt understand why he is still representing Brazil with so many good local talents
