so back to the review
Dekoze started the night off in a good way. I got in no problem, even w/o the apparent e-mail I was supposed to(and will probably get in 3 days) have. Bla bla bla..first thing that we all notice is hotties. Damn that girl in the jean skirt Shes for you liam!! many girls. This evens out and is even drowned out once the crowd for BT shows up.
Emery and his wasabi tricks fooled us all once, sometimes twice, but hey, the sushi was a nice touch, and if Linda happens to read the boards happy birthday!
so dekoze was rockin it..par for him.
then came BT. rockin phat big room electro breaks. sweetness. remixes, hip hop vocals over trancey breaks..it was great..he was cruisin along...then THE accident.
BT spilt his drink ALL OVER THE MIXER, they soaked it up as best they could, but he even got it on his Mac and on his keyboard. I would guess 3-5 minutes later, the sound craps out..but only for like 10 seconds, I figured a clipped amp or something nearly normal. Another 5 minutes later and it starts to go to hell. Sound crackling, non existant sound and then wham. Silence.
It took a good 5(I say) 10 according to others, minutes to get going again, and if you ask me, the energy in the place just died. once he got going again, it just wasnt the same. Until 'the last' 20 minutes, he got trancier, played dreaming and finished.
he came back for 'an' encore and played another hour. playing flaming june, Tricky, some 80's rock song, Mercury and Solace among others.
It was a good night. I got my autographed CD(yay for winning) and got to party for free(yay for winning) and I think we even got a semi TA w/ BT shot..only theres some Random guy(I think he was random) between me and somebody. I guess well see when Liam posts.

BT BROKE THE MIXER!!!

Friggin' awesome night. I was right at front when someone brought BT a glass of coke and put it next to the mixer. I thought to myself - shit I hope BT doesn't tip it.

BT TIPPED IT! Hit it with his elbow - right onto the DJM-600!!! Ice and all! He took the ice off of the mixer - and thought it was ok - but then looked again - and saw that it was covered in soda.

So then some guy brought a bunch of towels. BT and the guy (dreadlock man) wiped up as much as they could - and BT carried on.

Lets just say the mixer lasted about 5 minutes before it shorted out. BT BROKE THE MIXER!

Chatted with dekoze for a while after he played (the reason the record skipped was dull needle) and he's uber-awesome. One of my favorites for sure.

After I chatted with BT - and he remembered me from NYC (i reminded him of the discussion we had, and he completed the story - so i get the impression he just wasn't winging it). BT rocked, crazy mixing, crazy remixing.

Thanks to ryanparks for the entry! You rule! can't wait to see the photos.

Good to see everybody and talk (sometimes i feel like i yap too much, oh well, just tell me to shut my trap if i ever do.. ).

I saw quite a few people actually leave after he broke the mixer, but once they fixed things up behind the decks, the rest of the set was good. I guess a broken mixer is the trainwreck of all trainwrecks, so I can understand people's reactions, but the last half of his set was as good as or better than the first half. It's too bad.

His first hour or so was pure breaks... I was liking that. Someone thought his set would be pure trance and wanted to hang around the breaks room...

Anyway, good times, had lots of fun last night. Shoutouts to all the folks who showed up: Emery, RJ, Liam, Erika, Peter, Ryan, Margs, Jason and John of course. I wanted more of the sushi but didn't want to hog all of it. Erika, do you know EVERYONE who goes to System??

RJ, you're one sick twisted man-bitch, don't get me started.

Oh, and I was less and less impressed with that girl in the jean skirt as the night progressed; she was trying so hard to attract attention that it was actually getting annoying after a while. IMO, anyway.

Not much of a review eh... lol... goes with the spirit of the night ("nothing to do in Kingston... hm... I guess I could drive down to System and see BT...")
