I just got into Djing, I have all the equiptment, and I was wondering what are 2 good, easy, trance records to start beat matching with (practicing) and what are some good records to start mixing with.

I dont think u r gonna get much help...what u spin is up to you. Are you gonna spin house? Hard house? trance? Prog trance? uplifting? bla bla bla bla bla..

I'm thinking of spinning a progressive, uplifting, hard trance. I guess I'm wondering what records did everybody here start off with.

Get started by trying to mix two of the same records, just alter the pitch, and try to match them up...

PvD's stuff is great for getting started, his kick drum is very punchy, and the songs are usually pretty simple, so beatmatching and mixing will not be as difficult, just slow 'em down a little when you first start.

Look for those kind of simple records, with a punchy baseline, you can pick up the fun complex stuff when you get better.

Obsessive Progressive(House) Disorder.

I would suggest finding any two records that begin and end with a kick drum. Those are by far the easiest to mix. Once you get better, you can do songs that begin with what I like to call an "intro tune". They have this tune going on for 8-16 measures and then the beat starts. Once you get a good ear for where a beat is in a song with no beat, then go on to that stuff.
