tech 12 repair question...

ok so...

the little round black plastic part of the power switch on one of my decks was loose so I took it right off only to find out i couldnt get it back on at all. after trying to get it back on, i thought if I took of the other one (which was fine) i would be able to figure out how to get the first one back on. well, that plan sure backfired and now they are both off and i cant get either of them back on.

what i did learn from taking the second one off is there is a small metal piece (that the black plastic part attaches too) that slides down inside the deck. I can get this piece to come back out, but soon as I try and put the black part onto it, it just pushes it back inside the deck.

on the deck that i orginally took apart, this piece that slides up and down is either missing, or stuck down inside. so imt hinking that maybe the whole power switch needs to be repaired??

im apprehensive about taking the deck apart as I dont know what to expect and i dont want to fuck up things even worse. but if doing so could help me aviod a big repair bill, then i'm willing to give it a shot. But before I did anything like that I wanted to check if there was anyone that knew if I would be able to fix it myself or am i just going to have to bite the bullet and take them to the shop?

any help would be appriciated...

thanks!

take it apart its the only way..there are a bunch of screws on the bottom. make sure you dont break the tonearm. and make sure you have it unplugged. i think once you open it up it will be obvious how the switch works. you wont break it by taking it apart.
