Dunno Gemini equipment

I'm going to buy a dj equipment and today I went in a shop where they have the Gemini brand. Is it a good brand?¿
They showed me some mixers and decks:
- Mixers:
CS 19 for 423 €
PS 900 I for 307 €
PMX 2400 for 237 €
-Decks:
XL-200 for 102 € each one
XL-500II for 203 € each one
XL-300 for 171 € each one

I don't know what I should buy. What combination is the best?¿ Better to buy Technics or another brand?¿ What models?¿ Relation quality-price?¿
Plz help me, Thanxs!

gemini sucks. the only mixers that gemini ever made that were worth a damn were the umx series. if you can find a umx-9 used you should be able tto get a great deal on it.

I would have to agree with that above statement. Their turntables are pretty good. I have a friend with a pair of the PT-2400s and they are not bad to mix with at all. Their mixers, on the other hand, are not a good buy. I have heard nightmare stories about the faders. You should definitly stay away from their mixers.

To be honest, for the money, i believe some gemini products certainly do their job. I have to disagree with their mixers being bad. My second mixer was a Gemini PS626, a three channel with eqs on each channel. For the time i had it, it worked fine and provided the basic features, and i only paid 99 bucks for it (came with a three yr warranty).
ive known some ppl to use gemini without any issues.
Obviously, im referring to gemini as a budget product... Your not gonna compare it to anything like Rane or even mid budget mixers like vestax. I can vow for the PS-626 Gemini mixer, certainly worth its money.

Have had two PT2400s and a PS626i for a year now.

The decks are very good imo, nothing to complain about.. I will certainly keep these for a while..

The mixer is a nice starter one.. But you will want to upgrade after a year or so (at least I do).. For the price it is a very decent one though.

i will admit that i owned a pair of pt-2000IIIs and they did do the job fairly well. they hold their pitch and the tone arm is designed fairly well. all the rest of their decks are garbage though. the only time i would recommend a pair of gemini pt2400s is if you can get them for $200 each, they're your first pair of decks and you're short on money (as was my case). as for the ps626, i also owned one if these and i must say it is one of the worst mixers i've ever used. it didn't last more the 1 1/2 years and i don't even scratch. the faders are crap and prone to bleeding and they just sound like crap. the umx series was actually a pretty good series and i'm surprised they didn't catch on. toward the end of their production cycle you could get a brand new umx-9 cheaper the a ps626. my friend barry diston actually uses a ps-676 in his studio "fidget". i used to give him a bit of shit about it. from what he's told me though the 676 is leaps and bounds better then the 626. now, me i don't see how as it appears to be the same mixer with a crappy sampler built in but hey, the guy knows his shit so i'll have to believe him on that one. the whole point of the matter though is that for the same money you can get a better bit of kit then gemini. however if you can find someone selling a umx-9 in good shape you should be able to get a deal on it and it's built like a tank. cheers.

Thanks to everybody. I've seen another brands and my options have changed. Now I doubt between a Stanton's ST-100, Technics SL-1200 MK5 or MK2 and an Akiyama Acura's turntables.
I posted a new thread.

About the turntables... I dont want to turn this into a 1200 vs others, but their isnt really anything out there to compare the 1200s in terms of long term durability, so you can safely say they are the best investment for dj turntables. Pound for pound, the 1200s deliver
