Review - Tiesto @ Glow 11/1/03

First off let me apoligize to everyone on this board for missing my own meetup. I seriously feel like the biggest jerk ever. Circumstances beyond my control didn't have me even getting into DC until shortly after 9. So we opted to just head right over to the club, and aviod a long line. Next time, these "circumstances", won't be riding with us, unless they are on time. But again, Sorry to all that I couldn't even show up, that is just terrible, and I should be taken out and shot for it.

Now, on to the night! Tiesto's set was freakin' amazing!!! His mixing was dead on all night!!! Even better than it was in May! He destroyed that crowd! But I agree, the set definitely didn't take me on any sort of musical journey, but it was still great none the less. Didn't recognize many tunes, which I have found, is much more fun then knowing every track he plays. Highlights of the night were of course Beautiful Things, Traffic, and Faithfullness. Also I really enjoyed hearing Andy Hunter - Go (Antillas Remix) <--track 26 I believe, and always nice to hear Rank 1 - Breathing(Airwave 2003)(Breaks Dub). Noticibly missing though was his remix of Adagio for Strings?!?!?!?! Why the hell didn't he play that??? I thought that song would have been a lock to hear last night! I can't believe Tiesto just jetted at the end! What was that about??? Didn't sign and autographs or shake any hands???? That seemed very UN-Tiesto like to me. Great job by Pete to finish the night off, although I thought that it was sorta strange. Good job mixing Pete and playing some good tracks. Unfortunately, the energy in the club seemed to drop several noches after he came on. Guess I'm just still kinda shocked he didn't come back out and throw on 1 more to polish the night off. But I still had a great time, and now will be sore as hell all week.

Mad props from me to the Panorama crew out front last night. I had an issue with 2 of my friends not being there when they started letting us in, but they checked in all my online tix, and then let them in when they did get there. Thanks a lot guys! You're the best! In fact, I thought last night seemed to be the most organized out front I've ever seen it.

Glow virgins, Corrie & Megan, had an awesome first experience. They really enjoyed Tiesto's set, as I knew they would. So I'm very glad they had a great night was well. You know its always good to hear, "so when's the next one?" On the trip home.

Shout outs to Glitter, sky, Mario, Sergio, Nubreed and the rest of the regular glow crowd. Sorry if I didn't say hi, I probably either didn't see you or didn't recognize you. I didn't really see any TA's to be honest. I know they were there, but I was hanging in the back for most of the night, just not enough room up front. The only time I even bothered to try was at the end of Tiesto's set, and even then it was still too crowded to move.

Apoligies again to glitter, sky, and Mario, I know you guys made the meetup, not sure about anyone else. Never again, I promise.
Great night, and I'll see you guys at Armin!

I had a great time at Tiesto man, it was a bit crowded, but not nearly as much as some other times... i.e. Paul van Dyk and Opening Night with ATB back in the day, heh. The energy was off the hook, hands in the air, Tiesto loved it, but I was a bit surprised he didn't sign shit at the end as well, he just dipped out like a thief in the night. I didn't sign up for the meetup, but I would've liked to go, I went with my girl, her friend, my bro, and his friend. Had an excellent time, Tiesto is surely number 1. I was the guy that pushed his way to the front of the DJ Booth for like 2 minutes and gave him a note and requested "Adagio for Strings" but he didn't play it!!! Ahhhhh!! I just saw him in Houston and he didn't play it either, oh well right. Here's what I remember from the tracklist... I'm surprised more people haven't replied to this thread.

Lili Haydn - Anything (Gabriel & Dresden E-String Club Mix)
Andain - Beautiful Things
Underworld - Born Slippy (Paul Oakenfold Remix)
Ron van den Beuken - Timeless (Ron van Den Beuken Remix)
Andy Hunter - Go (Antillas Remix) HIGHLIGHT OF THE NIGHT!!
White Stripes - 7 Man Army (Adam Freeland Remix)
Dj Tiesto - Traffic
Skin - Faithfulness (Dj Tiesto Remix)

Damn can't remember any more lol, it was 4 nights ago!

He played a BADASS song early in the night with a black-female soulful voice saying something about "Life is the Beat" or some shit about "Beats", AWESOME track!

i was looking foward to this nite for a long time, and it ended up being one of the best nites of my life. dan you tore it up in the beginning of the nite, and i love your new track. teisto was awesome as always but i must say i liked his set much better in may.he played alot of tracks i never heard before, and i know all of you are really sick of it but i still wish he would have played ATRC.

highlight of the nite: Slide vs. White Stripes - 7 Nation Army Bootleg

i stayed up front dancing for his set, i left the crowd a few times to get a drink and had no problems getting right back up front! whoever the guy was that let me back stage to meet tiesto-thank you soooo much dreams do come true. that was amazing, me and glitter talked about that forever, we never actually thought it would happen!
