Carl Cox and Oakenfold Stole the show for area one! On Friday 13th in columbia, md

omg what a great experiance for me! Carl Cox tore up the crowd. He was feeling it. He didnt want to leave his decks. every one was feeling him. then some dude derrick something came up at least it gave me some rest before oakey cause i was sweating like a bitch! i think i lost couple of pounds. Before Oakey come on his decks he pointed at me. SO during his set he pointed at me 2 more times. i was hyped like shit. and then he signed my shirt which i thought was awesome. it was a great! He opened up with animal.com! But it sounded like it was my first time hearing it. haha! THE ONLY PLAYED LIKE 5 TUNES THAT I KNOW OF BUT THE REST WERE ALL NEW SHIT! I WAS SUPRISED. Oakenfold was feeling the crowd. D-Fuse also pumped it up. It was an awesome ass concert. i was in the dj tent from 3:45 to 10:05. I was so damn tried. But what an awesome party/concert. EVERY ONE JUMPING. i never seen that many people jump for Cox/Oakey. There was at least 2 thousand people in the tent. and at least 1 thousand waiting to get in. good thing was that i was upfront on the railings so it was all good! I still think you can get tickets for the show. Yall should check it out pe@ce.

Damm, that Oakey experience can remind me of one thing, when he came to the Ultra Fest. So i kinda know what you felt and mean. Hope to see him August 11th :-) .. D: Fuse is great DJ, I hope he sounded better then what he showed on his latest mixed Cd.

liquid you dont know how much energy that dude felt! Oakey really tore it up! i know he was feeling the crowd because he kept on playing new tracks! and he would throw is hands in the air and absorbed the music! and most of the time he would start claping or jumping. it was awesome! by the time he was an hour into his set u see every one into it! same with carl cox. carl cox had a kick ass set! from the start to finish. all i know is that he can mix like crazy. carl cox was playing with the crowd like crazy. he was just messing with our minds with his tunes and stuff. 3 turntables and he was mixing like crazy! thats NUTS!!!! i think it was a banging sets from both djs! and now Timo Maas is joining area 1 also. Damn i wish he came here man. that sucks dude but oh well! all i know its gonna be an awesome experiance. its a must go event!!!

Frankly, Carl Cox ripped oakenfold a new asshole. I finally made it passed the mob into see oakenfold, and he bored me to death. If by playing new tracks, you meant he ripped tracks that digweed has been caning for months, then I guess he spun new tracks...

Cox was definitely the better show, the man never stopped moving, he was straight pumped up, and completely wrecked me with non-stop bangin techno and house.

I thought oakenfold was bullshit, he didn't do a goddamn thing for 7 minutes between records but hold his hands up like he was a god or something. FYI, that wasn't d:fuse running around like a crackhead, that was Ian Masterson, Oaky's manager. He was all over the board stylisticly, didn't keep any sort of consistent tone.

I heard he spun the prohpet at the end...what a surprise there.

I really wanted Oakenfold to be good, I am by no means an oaky-hater, but that was his last chance...boo.

I went to area one in new york yesterday and I couldn't agree with you more. I have seen CC before and I knew he would tear the place up, and he definitely did. I love how animated and interactive he is when he's spinning. That was my first time seeing oakie live and he started off with kosheen- hide u, so I figured the set was going to be pretty good. After that he played maybe 2-3 more good tracks, but in between those 2-3 he was boring as hell! And wat a arrogant bastard, perfecto everywhere and his stupidass on the screen, I felt like smackin him. God he is not...

Dude, did he have the huge video screen up there in new york?

I almost died of laughter at one point. During a little string buildup in one of the songs, on the video screen(right behind him) and had pictures of dark clouds, with lightning bursting out of them...and then Oakenfold puts his hands up in the air and tilts his head back...I was like, who the fuck do you think you are? a GOD????

Since then I have started calling him Zeus- the god of boring mixing and played out trance.

Question

Beside Hide U & The Prophet what else did he play?

Animal, Das Glockenspiel, Pile driver?

Carl Cox always rips it up!

Well, that's why everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I'm glad someone enjoyed it.

Oh yeah, I second the request for Pvd.
