When he changed his format, I stopped listening...

He used to have a great show...

In his Techno "Dogwhistle" days, he was a poineer in Canada. Opened a lot of doors....now the only doors he opens are the ones to his "Sell-out" coffers.

I enjoyed listening to old Sheppard shows and own some of his Pirate Sessions and Destination Dance Floor CDs and other oldies. Since I heard Groove Station 4, I decided that he switched for the worst. He started declining after Energy 108 changed into Energy Radio crap .....

Kinda reminds me of a lot of other crappy, pathetic and ignorant (doing it just for the money-switching to the popular genres) music artists/producers who ditched electronica after that great change in the 1998-2000 era.

Chris Sheppard used to be part of BKS, and they had some great tunes back in the time ... Take Contol, I'm In Love With You ... Astroplane ....
also part of Love Inc. - Broken Bones is a classic! Everything went wrong when HERE COMES THE SUNSHINE crap came on ...

For example, Jacynthe was an amazing beauty, a talented dance music producer ... today she plays rock crap .... I am so angry at her.

DJ Shadow was a respectable D'nB / Trip Hop artist, and how he switches to hip-hop ...

You name many others ..... cause there's many of them out there .... and I know almost none that switch into electronica from mainstream genres ...

well...well...welll...the great chris sheppard debat.....hahaha....
this guy is a joke to electronica.....
sure is euphoria cds were not bad....not good....but only for about the first 5 or 6 tracks.....then his mixin went to hell.....tried to mix crap to ok music....

hes a sell out to the industry....but people will do that....money drives people....no matter how many say it....

i know i am in this industry for the pure passion of it all.....

as for changing from styles....well....i dont know depends on what you start spinning....if you spinn all the mainstream shit...then their is something wrong with you....the best stuff is underground...

M.C Mario....Yet another sell out....his albums were not even very good....the same thing as chris sheppard....the whole thing went to hell after about the 5 or 6 track......i mean if you are going to mix an album...or set....it needs to be solid the entire way though...or else your going to be known as a 30 min dj.....how many DJ spin for such a short period of time....i dont know of any....

SELLING OUT THE TECHNO INDUSTRY IS JUST PLAIN WRONG.....We dont what to have the Brittney Spears or Justin Timberlake's of Techno over Running this great Music Genre.....its bad enough that people i know are always saying.....oh well its easy to dj....i can do it too....

thats a LOAD OF SHIT.....to make it requires many things...
a. you gotta be able to mix the music for one thing....you can just pick up some tables and just start....it takes months upon months of pratice to get just one set perfect....
b. you gotta have the passion and drive to want to do it....or else you end up like chris sheppard and m.c. Mario....total and complete sell outs...
c. you gotta know your music.....i have heard people who absolutly hate electronica tell me that "Oh well i could spin that music no problem".... oh yeah buddy tell my how many BPM's this track is.....what type of electronica is it.....is it party worthy or not....do you know how to match tempos....keys....ect...

im sick and tired of people who think they can insult electronica...and tell us that they can do it better then us when they dont even own a single electronica album...dont know the first thing about the industry or its music.....and for that matter have never even sat through an entire single to take a listen....

The final thing that pisses me off about these people....kinda off the topic now...but.....is when they do listen to an electronica track...they say 1 of 2 things...
1. Man the beat stays the same.....does it ever change......DAMN you all don't you pay attention....their is more to electronica then the frickin beat....
2. If they are looking for something to dance to and they say "Well can you play something that i can Dance to".....what the hell...i mean come on...have you ever been...yet alone seen a picture of a dance floor at a rave/party/techno club/or Tech House party....give me a break how hard is it to dance to techno....if your talkin your average trance beat its a simple solid 4/4....these people need to get it together...thats a constent beat....go nuts and have fun....but i guess in order for a person to be able to dance to a song it has to be a song sung by Brittney Spears or Justin Timberlake...Like either of those "POP-STARS" even write their own damn music....Brittney dont even sing half the time at her own frickin concerts......

anyway thats my beef with the sell-outs and nay-sayers out their in Mainstream land.....i hope they enjoy the music they are being told to like....
PEACE OUT

Yup cant agree more with you .If only people were abit open minded about electronica music, things would've been alot different here in godo ways.Iam just sick of trying to make people understand more about this music, but not much luck, and ya you are soo right about that fact that they all think they could be a dj or producer no peroblem,I knew this guy once and he always told me that "oh ya it is soo easy to make Trance music, all you need is a keyboard"!!lol there was just no point trying to argue with him,he was hopeless!!
