I have a fairly powerfull laptop that is fine for learning to use software like Fruity Loops. My only problem is that over the past year my stereo headphone socket has been battered by repeated use. And I'm tired of resoldering it to the motherboard.
Is there a decent sound card for a laptop that will fit in the card slot or connect via USB that will still give me good sound from Fruity.
Many thanks

The Soundblaster Extigy is a great soundcard, allowing you to connect virtually any imaginable input and output sources. Latency, though, is poor as with all external soundcards.
