Advice in the matter of converting the non believers!

In the apartment next to mine a girl asked me if i could give her some advice on Electronic music! She has rarely listend to this kind of music, so I am wondering what to say.

I was thinking about something in the line of,

Hallucinogen - Lsd
Grayarea - Yewnimist
Juno Reactor - Pistolero [Man With No Name Mix]
Shpongle - Around the world in a tea daze
Aphrodite - Fugees - Ready Or Not (Jungle Remix)
Prodigy - 3Kilos

Is this something to push onto newbies when it comes to this cind of music? Plz! HELP

Oooh... Grayarea - Yewmynist for a nonbeliever? I think that's a bit too hard of a push. I'd say try a style of electronica more related to her own tastes. Maybe a remix of someone she knows... Evanescence... Madonna.... explain how the song works with buildups, etc. They can't appreciate the music if they don't understand it. I've noticed that after explaining how trance works to people, they can understand and maybe even like it.

Andain - Beautiful Things
Dave Matthews Band - Space Between (Tiesto Remix)

For example, something more audience friendly.

There was this one girl i knew who originally couldn't stand electronica...but i kept bugging her and pushing her to listen to some...then she finally got Ultra Trance 2 (ugh) and Summerbreeze, and she ended up liking those...and when she discovered Armin van Buuren - Sunburn, she flipped out and is now on the road to being a TA

Good call there. There are some songs out there which lean more towards pop... stuff that she's probably heard on the radio.

Ian Van Dahl - Castles In The Sky
Da Buzz - Let Me Love You Tonight
DJ Sammy - Heaven
Ascension - Someone
Melanie C - I Turn To You

Those songs were sort of my transition into electronica. That's also how I got my sister hooked. Good luck!

These were hughe hits on the Norwegian charts. Think I have to go a bit more commercial on her than I've done so far, will try these tunes

no, no, and NO

don't start with that stuff, most of it - shpongle, juno reactor (ESPECIALLY MWNN remix), grayareay, hullucinogen - are an acquired taste

just like it was said, go commercial, melodic, and vocal on her, even though everyone has their own buttons that can be pushed in different ways

i got my friend hooked on blank and jones, but, unfortunately, he couldn't go on further and sunk into dj pulsedriver and downloading sketchy "techno rave" and "dance" mixes of random tracks.

how about

Delerium feat. Sarah McLachlan - Silence (AIRSCAPE Remix)
Matt Darey feat. Marcella Woods - Beautiful
anything by Milk Inc.
Dario G - Dream To Me
York
ATB

try those, that's how i started out, although i was into Astral Projection slightly before i discovered what trance was.

You gotta introduce her with lots of vocal material. I've found that the majority of women need to have vocals in their songs or they can't relate to them and lose interest quickly in the song.

There are a few exceptions, but typically that is what I've noticed.
