I just got back from a concert, and a dinner following with some friends. My intention: correct my english essay real quick and hop into bed to go to class tomorrow morning. I get to the laptop... It's not there! What should have taken maybe five minutes, is now going to take me an hour or more. Kill me, please? Or my teacher, even better!
Sigh, its saved, but that docked out studying for a makeup anthro examn, so I'm most likely going to do horrible on that exam. Oh, this has just not been my day for studies!
Crap that sucks! Yea sometimes technology isn't too reliable. I'm always so paranoid when I save important documents. I'm in the habit of saving multiple copies in different folders and on floppy disks. Anyway good luck on that anthro exam!

oh.....stupid me....when i first read this i thought your laptop had been stolen.....that happened to me at uni.....
but i read a second time and realized that just the essay was gone....still no better....but you can finish the essay, at least.
i need to stop waking up so early

Have you tried the search function in Windows?
that worked for me once.
Go to Start>>Search>>Documents
then search for ".doc" (Word) files, assuming you were using word
and enter "Last Time it was modified" as within the last week

I was up until like 3 writing that crap, fell asleep about a half hour later, and had to wake up at 8 30, because there was no way I could miss any class. Thanks for the luck on the anthro exam, I'll need it. Today's going to be a bad day, I can see it. It's already stormy outside.
