Lightbulb problem with 2nd bassline....

hallo all,

i'm currently working on a track with following basic groove scheme:

K---K---K---K--- (kick)
-B-BB-B--B-Bb-B- (bass, b=different note)

what i'm looking for is a second (deeper) bassline which can be placed between BD and the main bassline in order to make the groove a littlebit more complex.

what i've tried so far as 2nd bassline is the standard bassline aka

--B---B---B---B- (bass)

but this is boring and seems to work _against_ the groove of the standard bassline.

it would be great if someone could suggest some idead for the second baassline or some main/second-bassline patterns in general.

additionally, i'm not completely sure about the frequency the additional bassline should work: should it be a simple (sine) subbass-sound or a more complex sound?

thanks a lot in advance,
dforce

It's hard to suggest anything without a sample but it looks like the following pattern as a sub bass would fit.

K---K---K---K--- (kick)
-B-BB-B--B-Bb-B- (your bass)
--B--B----B--B-- (sub-bass)

I dunno.

Check the 2 bassline threads for more ideas.

Hrmm, yeah why don't you just have the sub fill in any gaps instead of using the same kick pattern shifted over 1/8? If it still contrasts, then layer it on top of eith the bassline or the kick with the same pattern.

K---K---K---K--- (kick)
-B-BB-B--B-Bb-B- (your bass, b=different note,octave higher)
h-h--h--h-h--h-- (same as your bass at the original pitch)
G---G---G---G--- (This one fades in from zero with a filter to the midle of the G's, about 63/127 attack(reason values), not a lot of cuttoff though.
If you don't get it PM me

Well I thought of a bassline under yours. Here's another example: Kickplusbass example
now you heared B, h, G and B h G together. Basedrum is there so I could set the attack of G.
