I was just wondering what pitch do trance dj's usually use? I know it depends on the song but other than that what's the pitch that they use?

I'm not quite sure what you mean!!!!
Do you mean in what key are the tracks they play?
One of the most popular is D minor: For an Angel - PvD, Dreaming - BT.
They tend to avoid keys with loads of sharps or flats, but it really does depend on what key the producer happened to play a riff in.

I think he means pitch as in the setting of the pitch control sliders on the decks....(IE +1%, -4%, +12% etc)
I think trance DJ's will prolly play tracks at higher pitches (thus higher BPM's), because they want the tracks to be very "danceable", but "slow" sets can sound very cool aswell. there aren't any strict rules, as long as it just sounds good..
Well the BPMs for trance go from roughly 130 to 143. I personally find it easier to mix in the plusses (I find it easier to bring a slower record up to the same speed as a faster) so I slap an average track (135ish) on about +2% and go from there.
