Cycling'74 MAX/MSP the way to freedom?

Hello!

I just found my way here so I'm not very familiar with the jargon yet but I'll try to behave!
So far it has been awesome, so many great ideas and talents, I hope I will be able to share some of my thoughts as well.

Now enough of this!

I Want to hear your thoughts about the Cycling '74: MAX/MSP
http://www.cycling74.com/products/maxmsp.html

A friend of mine highly recommended it, so I got the PC demo later that day.
The program itself contained no cool synths, heavy grooves at all...actually it seemed pretty boring.
It was first after I found the re-wiring support and hooked it up with Propellerheads Reason 2.5 things became intresting, the amount of control and flexibility one has over MIDI is amazing.

I can't imagine anyone ever doing a full trance track with it, but it's great for bending the rules of normal sequencing programs.
The possibilities seems endless!!

What are your thougths about this, is it great way to give more power to your synths or am I just full of crap?!

Cheers, Makoto!
