Please help me with my schools film quiz
Last september I started the study media and entertainment management in the city of Breda in Holland. This semester we have the course filmanalysis. Beside seeing movies during classes (Indiana jones, finding nemo, go, pulp fiction, sliding doors) and talking about it. We also have a weekly film quiz. The answer must be handed over to the teacher on paper, every good answer is worth 0,1 points added to my final semester grade.
Last week the question was which director had a small part in the bleus brothers. The anwser wasnt to difficult, it was steven spielberg.
This week it is a lot more difficult:
The question:
Steven Spielberg shot his SCHINDLERS LIST partly in
black and white to communicate a sense of authenticity,
thus testifying strongly against the horrors of the
holocaust. How does he visually emphasise his protest
throughout the film?
NB: Keep your written answers as short as possible! The answers can be handed in
before hearing lecture 3 (3 december) in my mailbox or before class. The answer will
be discussed during hearing lecture 3.
So today I saw the movie and the movie was really impressive, but still the question is very difficult. I know there are a lot of film fanatics over here I hope that you can help me with the question.
I think Spielbergs protest is emphasise his protest by using a lot of shades. Most germans are in the shade, and very dark.
What do you think? Am I wrong or am I near the right anwser
