Anyone like this band? Their song "Bring Me to Life" is featured in the movie "Daredevil" and is becomming quite a hit. They're a pretty good rock band that uses some orchestated elements in their songs. The main singer, Amy Lee, has a very good voice too. The song "My Immortal" shows the beauty of Amy's voice. Check them out and lemme know what you think.

Yeah, Amy's voice sounds alot like Sarah's on that track "My Immortal". This group is one of the more quality ones that have come out in the past few years. I'm not a big fan of rock/alternative music but their scene does show that better stuff is coming out. Not all of this bullshit, cookie-cutter American garbage that's been around for the past 3-4 years.

Evanescence's CD, FALLEN, is the best piece of non-electronic music i've had the privilige of listening to since 'The Fragile' by Nine Inch Nails. check out the albumn cover:

Contrary to popular belief their music is actually quite gothic, and gothic themes are evident in their lyrics, music, and the beautiful orchestral, choral and guitar arrangements they use. Not to mention that Amy Lee, the vocalist (pictured above) has to be one of the most talented (and beautiful) vocalists in music today, and that's saying a lot. Listen to samples of their CD here: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...=music&n=507846

My favorites are "Going Under" and "My Immortal" which was also suggested by Teknohead above. Amy's ethereal, haunting vocals combine incredibly with the complex choral arrangements and well constructed orchestral pieces that back up the guitars very well, in my opinion. For those of you that have only heard track 2, "Bring Me to Life," the annoying male vocalist makes NO other appearance on the CD, thankfully.

So if any of you TA's have any inclination towards non-electronic music, or just want to hear something different for a change, check out Evanescence.

I read in a newspaper a few weeks ago that the album was originally marketed for the religious community (Christian bookstores and such) but an interview on an entertainment news show where they cussed up a storm, saying they didn't want to be marketed there, promptly got pulled from said bookstores.

Interesting.. i can't imagine why the record company would think Evanescence would market well for Christians! They would've flopped, it's no wonder they got upset. Where did you hear this?

The track that has been playing on the radio recently is nice. I hope that a sweet chillout remix comes out. Bring it on

Mate, Evanescence are hitting the charts all over the world, here in Spain you can hear bring me to life several times during day on the radio.
In my opinion Bring Me To Life and Going Under are ok, but the album is repetitive.
