Firstly, try using search next time you decide to post something because chances are its already been discussed.

Now, if you want an opinion about headphones, the only person that can do that for you is you. Go to a Guitar Center or any general music store, and try out the headphones. People choose headphones according to how they like it to sound, and the only person that knows what you like stuff to sound like is you.

I can give you another suggestion for headphones to test out is the Behringer HD280.

hey being a deaf dj (how ironic) I dunno how much of help I could be haha. But honestly I see no difference between the Sony 700s and the 600s which I have. Only difference I see is the 700s swivel and the 600s fit my ear better. Both me, my father, and my brother all listened to both and could not tell any difference, so why spend 30-40 more dollars to get a little swivel if theres no difference in sound, thats all i figured.
Vlad couldnt have been closer to the truth tho, you really got to try the headphones out. You find me 10 people that agree on the equalization of any track and I'll stand down. Truth is, sound is different for everyone and everyone's preferred sound is going to be different than someone else's preffered sound, our ears hear every frequency at different levels as individuals, so of course you don't hear the same way everyone else hears.
Everyone's preference is different. Some like more bass, maybe they can't hear bass as loud as you... just the way some people like more treble. Just like buying the right sounding needle, you have to physically be there and hear the sound that is produced to be able to tell what you want. People can make suggestions but they are soley based on their personal preference. Myself, I have only used the sony 700 and 600 in club environments (other than trying others out in the store) and I honestly believe if are hesitant to buy the 700, just buy the 600, it's a lot cheaper and I believe just the same quality (better if you consider the way it fits your ear).
Honestly if you start arguing that the 700 goes to 16 hz vs the 600 going only down to 24 hz (and Im just throwing these out here dont quote me on this), 8 hz difference, you wont hear SHIT difference.
So I say, take suggestions and go try em out on your own, see what you think. Lemme know however, whats sounds better, the 600 or 700?

Im also curious, does anyone know, or can it be determined what kinda output a sound blaster audigy sound card has? Im just wondering as to how hard an audigy sound card could push a set of 3500 mwatt headphones. Im guessing that they cant push to terribly much, but im not real sure. I know that the more you can push you usually get a more powerful sound. Ill try to dig up the specs on the sound card, but I dont think it lists this information. Im just hoping that using mostly a computer with software setup is actually gonna push these headphones good enough to make it worth the investment.Again, just my lack of experiance with professional headphones and all the technicals behind the numbers. Does anyone here also use a computer for DJ work that could comment on this?

First of all... "3500 mwatt headphones" is probably a load of bull... that's not how one rates headphone sensitivity... and an audigy is a line-level source, and will only sound decent on efficient headphones...

what do you mean by an audigy sound card will only sound decent on effecient headphones? Im talking about using probably using Pioneer HDJ1000's With sound blaster audigy Sound card. Is that effecient enough? The way I understood it is that you need a good solid source powering these headphones to get a really strong sound, and I was un sure if a Audigy Sound card had the Umphh to make these headphones sound better than some $20 set of headphones i have laying around somewhere. These haedphones are made to be used with mixers and what not, and Im wanting them to sound just as good on a computer setup, and I dont ahve the slightest clue what to expect.

was about to go for one of those you mention.. but i decided to go try em out first.. and what i found out. they didn't fit on my ears at all!!
the sound qual was ok, but when they wore that unconfortable it doesn't matter..
so I'm looking at some completely other models atm..

I have poineer sdj-5000's which are quite similar to the 1000's and i've run them off my audigy 2 platimum card when I'm not mixing. I have that front face plate with a full size headphone out jack with a seperate volume control and it sounds no different than my poineer djm 500 mixer with the only exception being peak voulme. The mixer can get the volume about twice as high as the sound card. That said I've ever wanted to listen to music at well beyond deafing levels so it's really a moot point.

Dude... DJ headphones = ultra-efficient...

Sound Blaster Audigy = pretty damn low-fi, but not too bad for a gamer..

Besides, there's also a difference between "being able to drive headphones to deafening levels" and "being able to drive headphones well"

Most DJ headphones are made knowing that DJ's have shitty sources... that's one thing that really holds back the sound quality of lots of DJ headphones...
