I know you're probably being facetious, but audiophile-grade equipment means (at least in principle) that they use better (and more expensive) parts. A dated example from my copy of Horowitz and Hill The Art of Electronics: "The LM833 is a low-noise dual op-amp intended for audio applications (a "gold-plated" op-amp for this application is the ultra-low-noise LT1028, which is 13dB quieter, and 10dB more expensive, than the 833!)." Translation: the audiophile part is ten times better, but it costs ten times more. In this example, you really do pay for what you get!
