Yeah, been there, done that. 
Got 89.15 TER (i.e. top 10.85% in the state) last year, which wasn't bad considering I completely fucked up maths (walked out half an hour into the second exam having answered like 20% of the questions.... still got a D+).
I think Victorian students got their marks back yesterday, and I've got a couple of friends doing year 12 this year (inc my next door neighbour) but still don't know how they went yet. Anyway, the advice I can give you is that the marks you get in yr 12 aren't as important as they make it out to be. For instance, one of my friends from school was expecting a 90+ TER and only ended up with sixty something: he thought his life was over at that point, and was considering forgetting about uni altogether. He fortunately decided to do a TAFE course (more for his parents sake than his own) and has done pretty well there all year, and is now a pretty good chance of getting into the course he wanted to do in the first place. So yeah, just remember, TER scores (or whatever the equivelant is in your state) isn't everything.
Though, of course, if you do get a good score then it's a certainly a bonus, yeah.
