I have to agree with you, and to be honest I couldn't really care less that there's been threads like this before...
Currently I'm listening to Armin van Buuren 7 Hour Set at Club Eau - that was only about 2 and a half years ago, but you can tell that it's still miles better than anything done more recently.
Not to say that there aren't good tracks anymore, or that the quality of DJing has dropped, but just that I don't enjoy the newer stuff. With the older sets you can start dreaming and lose yourself in the melodic trance, but unfortunately I don't get that feeling anymore. I guess all types of music just has to move on, and I think the golden years for trance (late 90's, early 00's) have been and gone! |
and i must agree with you, if i listen to tracks from like 2000/2001 the latest! i start drifting off, like what a feeling! amazing, but now, its just bla, so boring, and just the other day i tried djing, and what do i realize? half my songs are prog! which means the BPM is 132! like WTF! i wanna mix trance not prog, 140 Bpm!!!
