You seem to have no trouble in getting the records in time (i.e. adjusting the pitch of the one you hear in your headphones so both are going at the same speed). But the phrases and/or beats aren't in line with each other on all the mixes.
You need to cue the record in your 'phones to just before the first beat of a bar, then hold it so it can't play further. When the record playing through the speakers gets to the first beat of a bar, let go of the one you're holding so it starts playing again, with the bars of each now in line. Because the record you were holding has to start up from rest, it'll be slightly behind the other so you need to jog it forward to 'catch up'.
But don't worry man; you're a lot better than most people after 3 months (including me)!
