[Review] APO2004

small review in a not so good english

first, i must admit that ray junior's partys usually suck. but!

i arrived at the rave location at 9am to help preparing the place and building up the dj booth and all.. i asked Ray: Any visa or border problems this year? hehe (read apo2003's thread if you dont understand) Then, Spectre Sonore went in and I couldnt believe how much material they brang in. Ok, i'm pretty sure it wasnt as huge as Celebration, but the setup was still very cool. you know, european festivals-like, with the dj being surrounded by a complete wall of lightings, lasers, and scans. I realised that a total of 18 Shiva were in the place. I worked with those few years ago, and they are the party producer's dream.

There were also 2 giant screens with really cool animations.

Party was great. I didnt stay long (arrived at 11h, left at 4h30) cause i still have mononuclesosis and it really slow me down. The place was full and the crowd wasnt what I expected. Candies arent a majority anymore!! I swear! Well.. you'll see a some ravers and girls with 1~2 candy props, but that's it. And the average age was about 18 or 19. Ray junior worked a bit on the image of "brand" the past yeara in order to get known by other group age then the 15~18 one. And looks like it worked! Many cegep/university students attended the party. And they know what party means!
!! And there were so many cute girls there! The guy:girl ratio was like 1:1 maybe 2:3.

Heard a lot of well-known trance tracks (not cheese..), particularly during G O'Brien's set, which is imo a good local trance dj. Unfortunately, the sound system wasnt optimised for trance (way too much bass..) and had few sound compression problems, but still G O'Brien did a very good hard-trance/tek-trance set. had a small talk with him after his set, he's a cool guy..

mauro_picotto_and_riccardo_ferri-new_time_new_place
marco v - c del mp3
the manu chao - bongo song remix (i dont know the exact name..)

i'd never been an IDing whore like Congo, so that's all.. but MANY others good trance tracks were played.

What about Humate? I don't know. I don't know that guy/group/girl/something at all. If he is that guy with long hair that played from 1 to 4, i didnt like him.

met a tranceaddict hangaround ( ) there, Dan's friend (dj lemeir) I think. He was wearing an aria tshirt hehe

anyway.. i think i'll go to the next visit of mauro @ aria, see you there.

~ Patrice

I always wanted to know if you were writing down tracks on your cellphone or something like that to be able to remember them all ?
