Hi there, I have a little question.

Is it possible to find out what bpm accapella's have? I mean, I have the acapella of Oceanlab - Satellite from the remix compo. I have made a drumline, bassline and shit. Now I want to put in the vocals..but they are too fast.

Is there an easy way to adjust the right bpm/tempo? I have Sound Forge and have tried to Time Stretch the whole file. But it didnt work cos I didnt know exactly what tempo I gave it.

Well, the vocal for this track is at 140bpm as per the readme file.

You could always try some creative cutting up of the vocals to make them fit the tempo you're working at. Get creative.

Otherwise try Prosoniq Timefactory - it's the highest quality time stretching program I've heard.

The vocals are 140bpm

Say the track you are making is 135 bpm

Take a percentage of 135 of 140 which is 96.4285 %

This means you need to add 3.5714% to the vocals.

So in soundforge use the time stretch and use the percentage function rather than Time (which is the default setting i think) and change it to 103.5714 %

No matter how much cutting you do, the vocals will still sound shit if the remix is @ 125 bmp.

I see where you're coming from Dave, but of course you are wrong

If someone tries 125bpm, it's not likely to be a conventional trance tune and therefore you wouldn't expect anyone attempting to drop in the whole vocal. Just take individual sounds out - the tempo is far less relevant then.

125BPM = open vocals in RECYCLE - find the looppoints and generate correct REX file with correct bar! Its not the perfect way but adding delay and reverb will do the job!

If still vocal bugs then you can always correct word by word then.

125BPM is not perfect for creating "Satellite" remix but new experience is always good for ya.

Im sorry sir but i think you're wrong..
Beacuse what you you're saying shuold be revarsed 'cause if you will add 3.5714% precent to the bpm of the vocal it will be 145 bpm...
it should be less 3.5714% precent then it will be the bpm that you need ..
