AR52 - Enigma
finally heard this one in the last ASOT, and it surprised me quite a bit. different style from the fantastic timegate/hibernation vinyl, with loads of energy and some pretty well done breakbeats.
it's getting released with a 2 year old tune in the b-side, can't remember the name of it, Miika Kuisma said this info here on TA sometime ago
what do you think of this one? I think it's not as good as the previous tracks.. but still pure quality!

about the enigma
we thought that those overused 2-3min huge breaks are over for us. instead we wanted to try something new, something that dancers are not expecting when they're on the foor. for example the intro part of the tune was made quite lame in purpose. you can see how people are not so much into it first but when main riff suddenly explodes out, you can hear some "omfg" lines from the crowd. before they ever expected, the whole background bangs in and tune will go forward at it's fullest power. then just before they'll get bored it goes down again and under the breakbeat the new even more interesting riff crowls up and right after that it goes bang bang again.
for us this track was really a dancefloor science experiment and everything was well calculated. we kept moving some transition points, claps, hihats etc and trying out the new version in public until everything was just perfect.
sorry if I sound cocky or something but me and tab are so fucking proud of this tune
Very cool to hear how you developed the record and how proud you are of it - no need to apologise for being 'cocky.' I'll look forward to hearing your "lame intro" turn into a solid track
