I've never been one to date anyone off the internet/phone/blind/whatever if I havent seen the person up close and personal....

... Well, this girl AIM-ed me a while ago.... maybe 1 yr ago saying she knows me through someone else. We've talked online for a while and shes given me her phone#/pics but i've never called her even after a year. She always talks about meeting me and says she thinks i'm cool through one of my friends that she and I both hang w/ occasionally .....

....again, after talking w/ her online for almost a year, I'm not sure to call her or not. Whats your guys' experiences, good things, bad things, or whatever for that matter on how to address the situation. Again, i've never done anything like this before and I'm kinda skeptical about this whole internet, meeting thing (something is just wack about it). Any suggestions????????

I'd maybe meet her, get to know her then see if she's g/f material.

I've met some people from online. (TA's and not TA's) *shrugs* It's all about the trust. Do you trust her? Then meet her. Meeting online then in real life is kind of like a blind date... except you already somewhat know each other.

You can find out a lot about a person from their online persona - whether good or bad.

The social stigma surrounding meeting someone from the net will go away over time - but who cares - if you and her hit it off then that's all that matters in the end
