My first finished track..feedback plz

Finally finished a track. It's sort of proggy-trancey type track. It's not the greatest i know, but its a decent start imho. Feedback would be greatly appreciated, I used fruityloops and a bunch of vsti's to produce this.

sorry bout the quality, but for your trakcs not to get released by release groups, u gotta make it 96kbps or lower.

Hmm... very proggy indeed.

Are you by any chance experimenting with blue notes around 7:20ish. The piano sounds like you hit a duff note every so often.

Actually to be honest you have an excellent base for a track but the first thing that sticks out to me is how dry the piano sound actually feels. Almost like it was inserted over the top. Stick some reverb or delay on it perhaps?
This does have a nice chillout feel to it. I also think that if you included a few more details to it you would have a decent track.

Which VSTs are you using by the way, just out of interest?

Cheers
Nem

thanks alot for the feedbakc guys, i really needed it. Your right bout the piano i didnt add jack shit to it. i just left it plain. ill add some delay and reverb to it. I used atmosphere, pro 53 and this free VSTi called plugsound free. also nem, what do u mean experementing with blue notes? I have no theory knowledge so im not the most musical genious when it comes down to adding contrasting melodys. keep feedback coming

He he, neither am I but a blue not is when a musician deliberately plays something out of tune to get the listeners attention, very common in Jazz (Hence Blue Note records ). It was just something that hit me around when I listened to your track. In this case it sounds intentional but not right if you catch my drift. Might just be my crap hearing playing tricks on me again though.

Cheers
