baaasic questions, let the flaming begin
hey everyone i just bought sum turntables and a mixer and i'm wondering some really basic things that seemed to get overlooked in lots of the FAQ's and general explanations. For example I understand most about scratching... but I was wondering more about finding spots on the record. If i want to use a certain spot is the best way to find it to spin the record really fast and if i want to go back do i spin the record backwards fast to get to the spot. orrrr should i lift up the needle and move it to the spot... or does it not matter worth shit and i should just figure it out myself haha.
I'm just not sure what is bad for records and such, do any of these things reallly mess up the record or is it just over a long period of time. also when i'm using a sample off a record the motor should be off shouldnl't it so i can get the best control? I dunno stupid ass questions... but like i said ones that i haven't found addressed newhere, and i'm sure they have been b4 in a forum but i coudln't find any cuz the "search" mode was bringing any up for me, but if anyone finds others pleze give me a link to it. Thank you very much! later everyone.
The often confused...
