what you all in fruityloops use for basslines? 3xOSC? you got some FLP files of good basslines? i wanna improve in making basslines, i kind of suck.

There is a free VST available called Tritium. With the knobs turned the right way and perhaps some EQ and compressing FX on top of that and it can turn out to be an okay sounding bassline.

I use V-Station mostly for my b-lines...

by far one of the best synths for bass... if you don't know how to install vst.. move it into your fruity/plugins/vst folder and then right click on a channel... click add... click more... then select refresh and then fast scan (recommended)...

it is not too hard of a synth to learn but you still have to spend some time getting to know it if you want to make anything good... the presets are ok for the synth but you can make so much better stuff with that synth.. hope that helps

I second that. Triangle is very nice.

1) Reverb -> This can really screw the flow of the bassline. so try to use minimal reverb if any. Remember that with Trance, especially in case you add delay to your BL, it must be REALLY flewent. Which brings me to:

2) Delay -> Can rally make your track enTrancing, especially if you give it some stereo effecting. Don't make it too dominant since chord progressions might turn a bit eerie this way. Try to have as little ocassions as posibble where one not of the bass "Unites" with a first feedback of a previous note.

3) Chorus - > Can add a lot of atmosphere to the bass. Again, too much dominance and the bass starts straying to different notes, which is BAD, especially when the bass is in a very low frequency

It really doesn't matter what VSTi you use for bass.. any good one will do. What's more important is the FX you put on it.. compression, reverb, and especially EQ..
