TA top 10 2003 VS ASOT top 20 2003

So the votes are in.... and
Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes
wins both the TA top 10 and the ASOT top 20

What i'm interested in is seeing just what the similarities between our list and ASOT's are and if we can make any conclusions because of that

SONG------------------------------------------TA-----ASOT
---------------------------------------------------------
Motorcyle - As The Rush Comes-----------------1st----1st
Adain - Beautiful Things----------------------2nd----2nd
Solar Stone vs Scott Bond - 3rd Earth---------3rd----8th
AvB ft Justine Suissa - Burned With Desire----N/A----3rd
Agnelli & Nelson – Holding onto Nothing-------4th----5th
Thompson & Holden - Nothing-------------------N/A----4th
Pulser – My Religion--------------------------5th----16th
Oceanlab ft Justine Suissa - Satellite--------N/A----6th
Solid Globe - North Pole----------------------6th----13th
Sarah McLachlan - Falling---------------------N/A----9th
Fictivision vs C-Quence – Symbols-------------7th----11th
Dave Gahan – Dirty Sticky Floor’s-------------8th----N/A
Envio - Touched By The Sun--------------------N/A----10th
Firewall Sincere------------------------------9th----20th
DJ Tiesto – Traffic---------------------------10th---7th

So what do you guys think this all says about the year in trance? The differences and similarities between our list and ASOTs etc?

regards

I thought Firewall - Sincere would go a little higher in the ASOT list

And I thought Holden & Thompson - Nothing was from late 2002???
Or was it officially released in 2003?

although to a certain extent you can't compare cos of how the voting was done in them, TA has knockout stages, while ASOT is a straight forward vote.

tunes like Thompson & Holden - Nothing do not appear int TA, but that might be ecasue they were in a high competitive group, had they been in another heat, they might have walked it. who seeded the TA heats? i think the ASOT top 20 has a more reliable result cos each track had an equal opportunity to be in the top 10

just my thoughts like...

Glad to see some TA's actually have a brain (Tiesto almost not making the list ).

As for the rest of the list, I think the TA list is a lot better, although I can't believe Envio didn't make the list

The thing about it is that hes trying 2 bring a new style tho just like he did with Just be and it worked. they songs areunt TOO HIGHT up. but the vocals acaully are the best thing in 2007. The Track Carpe Noctum is like traffic but it hink he could of prefected the shit ouf it. but generalllyy its an amazing album...oh and Ten Seconds Before Sunrise is like Forever today TIMES 12

we can also come to the conclusion that Armin's fans will vote for Armin's tracks because Burned with Desire placed 3rd in the ASOT list but didnt place at all on the TA list.

you'd think that burned with desire would be in the TA top 10

I feel both lists were a representation of commercialism and not necessarily quality. I dont think atrc was #1, though it was def in my top 20. Lots of deserving prog got ignored, while alot of undeserving vocal tunes made it simply because of people obsession with lyrics. all imo

it's ASOT not ASOP and it's TA not PA

perhaps that has something with the prog stuff not getting the votes?
