Dunno Question for Mackie HR824 or HR624 Users

I just bought and set up my HR624 speakers today...they sound great when I am spinning, but when I am not playing anything from the tables, a sorta static sound comes out of the speaker. Is this normal??

Your speaker cable going from whatever output into your speakers is not shielded. Get some shielded cable and they won't hum anymore. It has to do with interference being picked up by your cable that your speaker thinks are signals.

How you like the speakers? I own a pair of the HR824 myself and my favorite things about them are the calibration certificates. They're so cool.

Wow you're using them for DJing? I bet you can hear when you breathe on the needles! haha! I have mine at about ten o'clock input sensitivity. Think that's about -7db too but I use mine for monitoring productions.
