If you have the Active reveals, you don't need an amp. The "active" means it has an integrated amp (two in fact, one for the low driver, and one for the tweeter). If you would have the passive Reveals, you would need an amplificator.
But still, to answer your question, you don't need amps that can deliver raw power like live PA amps. You mainly want an amplifier that reacts linearly (doesn't "color" the sound) and that has handles transients well. Well, couple of other things too, but that would require extra explanation I'm too lazy to give.
Good value for money studio monitoring amps are Samson servo series, or that new studio range from Alesis.
Crown make some nice ones too (but those are already more expensive). Of course, it's like monitors, if you want the best, you have to pay a lot. Bryston amps are among the best you can get, phase linear are not bad too, and I'll mention Hafler just to be complete.
