The Trance Essentials?

Hardware or software?

I have some dosh, Ive got my eye on a emu e5000 and Ive used one before, I might get kontakt instead though.
How much is a Roland Jp8080?
Anything else I could spend around £450 on?
Or any Essential Item I should save up for?

I don't know the prices in the UK, but a second hand JP8080 costs around 800 euro, you might find one for your money, but if you don't have good monitor speakers yet, I advice you to buy that first, since they're more important than a good synth.

I wouldn't bother with a sampler. I thought long and hard about getting one but they realy are being done over by software.

A nice synth would be good. JP looks like a nice choice. Good for trance. Get one second hand, they are usually quite cheap. Cheaper than a virus that is.
