Going alone to a show...

Hey

None of my friends are into trance at all. The only one that is is under 21. I really want to go to the AvB show in Feb at Spundae. The problem is that I live about six hours away from Chicago in SW Missouri. Think it is worth going? What would I expect if I went alone? Thanks for any help.

What are you going to see?

If you are coming to go clubbing, watch this section so you can meet up with the rest of the CTA (Chicago Trance Addicts) and have fun with people that are into the same thing as you.

that's a pretty long drive to make alone. you never know what the weather will be like in Feb, and if you get stuck with car troubles all alone you're going to be pretty upset, i'd think. i mean, i only live about 100 miles from chicago and i still don't like driving alone really. *shrug* i guess it depends on your comfort level though...

but yeah, otherwise, there are always people from TA meeting up for events. just get talking to some people. i have met a few members from the forum and they are all cool people to chill with.

not to mention, for AVB... we are ALL gonna be there

don't let the fact you might be solo hold you back!

I personaly travel a lot for clubbing and well... it's solo most times :S

But you always have meetups and such. And honestly there's quite a bunch of advantages to being solo. Don't be worried

I live 6 hours away from chicago also and I've gone to chicago SOLO several times... dont worry.... the past 2 times I've even had to work the next day.

When I went to pvd in November,I took off at 4:00pm and got to the TA meetup around 9:30pm, we had some grub and went to HOB. HOB closed around 4:30 or 5am, I drove back and got home round noon, had a couple of hours of sleep and then I went in to work.(I wouldnt recomend this though, try to get a hotel or stay at a friends house.)

just make sure you've got....

1. good map/directions
2. cruise control
3. energy drink or something with caffeine
4. and last but not least plenty of kickass trance cd's.

*Always use common sense if you are falling sleep do pull over and take a quick nap or better yet get plenty of sleep the night before.

True.. I'm more focused when I'm driving solo, I tend to get distracted when there's other people in the car.

weymouth.. definitely try to make It to a meetup like jdat, lucid and nut have suggested you'll get to meet some cool people and have a lot more fun at the club. (hopefully Armin can make it to the meet up like last time.. he is very down to earth and extremely nice!)

Think I might give it a try. With these TA meet-ups is it usually a bunch of close friends or do you get people like me that just meet-up just because they want and don't know anyone? Also if I did meet Armin would it be mad lame for him to sign a vinyl of mine?

from what i have heard..armin is one of the coolest dj's to meet... getting a vinyl signed should be no prob... other than the fact that you have to carry it around w/ you the entire time.

There were several of us who had never met anyone from TA who went to the pre-PVD meeteup. Was a cool thing. I am definitely going to the Armin one if I am not out of town for work. Was a good time.

We need those signs like they got in the UK that tell you to pull over if you are sleepy. they seem to be on all the highways there... I need to find a photo

I went to Mauro Picotto @ Congress Theatre alone.

I met up with Seneca, so that was cool. Next event I go to I will definitely try to meet up with some TAs!
