Sonar 3.0 HELP

does anyone know any books or manuals for first-time dummies? i'm sorry, but i did a search and you guys seem to be so far ahead of me at this point that i dont really understand all the jargon you guys use.

Yes, there is a great book called "Sonar 3 power" which is a great resource. Also check all the on-line resources here:

http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/SONAR/default.asp

Most community colleges also have electronic music courses where you can get free studio time in a fully equipped studio so check around at your local schools.

Sonar 3 is a VERY ADVANCED program (not as advanced as Cubase SX thoguh) if you're a newbie producer I would start with something a bit simpler to use like FruityLoops..

Or not. If he wants to struggle through an advanced sequencer let him. You'd probably be better off doing that, but if you aren't technically inclined, then yeah FL or the like would be better. FL is almost TOO easy..
