Yah...I agree....Ultra05 was pretty hott. Soem things were missing though...They needed better preparation as far as what the dj's had spun. And...they could have used some better replacement dj's in the main arena...The transition wasn't that great as far as Underworld performing rite after Tiesto's excellent gig! Underworld ruined the whole trance feeling i had going on. They're good, but honestly, i wouldn't bother listening to them unless I was inevitably led to listen to them. Instead of Underworld...they could have used some Armin or Ferry...I remember Oakie pumping up the crowd during the daylight hours....then I remember Tiesto coming after some band...and he f**kn' kicked a** all the wayyyyyy....!! I remember Paul after Underworld...and Paul should have been more prepared...because he's the best...lol..but they should have moved underworld and that other band that came between the more famous and well known trance dj's...the replacements should have been atleast ferry and armin....if not some other awesome trance dj from Europe. I'm looking forward to a better Ultra06 this spring...Hopefully I'll see some of the TA's there...along with another great Ultra...!

I think that "other band" you are referring to is The Streets, those British losers...I remember staring at them for 1.5 hours wondering wtf are they doing at ultra? It was TERRIBLE. I made the sacrifice and held onto our seats at the main stage, while three of my friends went off to see Sasha at the Radio One essential mix stage. What a fucking waste of an hour of my life. Gah, pisses me off thinking about The Streets.

This year, all of the top ten people need to be there, in the same stage. The problem is they all demand to be one of the last up for the night, to have a bigger audience. The bigger they are the later, you know? So when you have Tiesto, PvD, Oakey, Ferry, Sasha, Sander, Diggy, armin, etc, all wanting a "late reservation"...it could get sticky...so they had to break it up into two stages...
My dilemna was as such: Underworld here, Sander there. Many people here, many people there. I lose my seats here, if I go see Sander K. there. I could see sander, have a great time, and come back...to shitty seats for PvD...or suffer through Underworld and have great seats for PvD. Did that make sense? I chose to sit through Underworld (which wasn't bad at all, btw, I would just rather see Sander).

I hope they figure something out this year that lets me see AAAALLLLLL the best people without moving my lazy American Ass one inch, heheh.

Yes I enjoyed the streets. Its not trance for sure, but variety is a damn good thing. Btw didnt they only play an hour? Im looking at my flyer on my wall right now and it says THE STREETS: 4:30-5:30

Anyways, I didnt stay the whole time for them, but I still enjoyed them.

No offense, but I don't think variety is the price i paid for. I paid to see STRICTLY trance dj's in the main arena, because i don't want to sacrifice my view to go walk a mile to see another great dj. I was in the front, right grabbing on to the rails. Yah they're all great, but they could have set them up somewhere else, so that people wouldn't have to move around so much. I was in the main arena, and I was not looking for variety. I was strictly in the trance vibe, and that's all i wanted to hear, because that's what soothes me. If anything else, deep prog. house is OK. Not that the band you guys are taking about called the streets or underworld sucked. They could have placed them somewhere else. It's not that their performance sucked, it's just that it's not what i was digging. I wanted Oakie, Tiesto, PvD, armin, ferry, and whoever was in the same music genre to be in the main arena, and no doubt, even though pvd messed up last time, he is the closing act, HE IS THE BEST. I want the rush to keep coming. not to stop when underworld or the streets come on. They could go to another stage where the music they're playing or performing is similar to their co-dj's or co-performers. as i said, variety is not the price i paid for. they could place them somewhere. there organization was not all great, and hopefully, this upcoming ultra will be better as far as their overall projection. as said before, no offense.

Obviously variety is indeed the price you paid for, since I assume you saw the lineup well before you purchased your tickets? This isnt "Ultra-trance-fest." To assume that the mainstage would simply be trance throughout the day is ignorant. It never has been in the past. Your the first person Ive seen who didnt think the underworld show was absolutely fucking fantastic, so obviously your musical tastes are the minority. The promoters have a lot more people to worry about and please musically that yourself, wanting to hear only trance. 14 hours of trance all day would get incredibly stale after 2-3 for 90% of the people out there.

Dont complain about the slot times. I do think the streets should have gone before Chris Lawrence, since he played a really rocking set and the streets played a very laid back type set. But other than that, the time slots were very well done I beleive. If you wanted to hear only trance then you could have easily gone to see Diggers/Sasha when the streets started, and then gone to George Acosta/Dave Seaman/Guy Ordanel during Underworld (Im looking at my ultra flyer right now, and only at one side with the 4 main stages because its pinned to the wall). Dont argue that you were trying to save those seats: thats a sacrefice you must make, get over it. Thats the nature of these big festivals. I would consider that a tiny tiny inconvienence when compared to the amazing day Ultra is. Btw, I also found an excellent spot for PvD only a few rows back without even trying.

When the main arena was nearly ALL trance, it is IGNORANT to say that variety is good when 2 groups play in bettween what the whole nation came for, then that is not much of a variety. now is it? most of the variety WAS OUTSIDE THE MAIN ARENA, not within, 2 groups do not compose for the whole damn variety that is avialable. so now these two varieties that are available to you and the audience and can be moved where you like ur variety. out in the smaller stages. most stages had themes, the main stage theme was HEADLINER
if you dont think Underworld live PA is HEADLINER material, then you are indeed one stuck up trance snob (this much is sadly obvious already). They were the best act of the day. To see them LIVE is a rarity, and you should be lucky that you were there in the front row. It sickens me that you stayed in teh same spot all day just to be front and centre later on. heres a hint. Oakie and teisto played identical sets to their night @ space, PVD was the same as the night earlier @ space. Underworld fuckin blew my mind away.

I thought the Main stage was perfectly done. So did the other 44 999(minus you of course) people there. My biggest problem was that I couldnt be at 3 stages at once!!!!

ps Underworld is on nearly everybody playlist, Sahsa, Digweed, Armin, Tiesto, PvD etc. To call them crackass is the biggest joke of alltime. PIONEERS they are fucking PIONEERS of music.

Because some stages are bigger and better than others. Its only fair that theres a reasonable variety on them so that everyone can enjoy the thrill of dancing between thousands of people on one of the bigger stages. You also put the biggest names on the bigger stages so that more people can enjoy the biggest stages. Underworld is a fucking ledgend... they practically pioneered everything. Just because you dont like them doesnt mean that practically everyone else doesnt, because they do, and for that they deserve a slot on the mainstage.

How the hell are you telling me that I should or should not come some place that I even think was fantastic, but posed my opinions on flaws.
