Thumbs down textbooks

college students, who else has to spend hundreds of dollars on textbooks this semester?

bitch about it here.

i'm glad that one of the books i need is published online by MIT and there's no way in hell i'm paying $13 for a copy of Descartes' Philosophy. i found it on the net.

we need scan groups to scan books and release them as pdfs on p2p networks

My history class alone had FIVE books!!!!!!!! uggggggggggggggh

And I'm taking five instead of four classes, and they are all difficult. I'm starting to think I overdid myself. On the transcripts my SA checked "Extreemely difficult" for this semester.

I think I spent about... I want to say 700$ on books? Thank God for scholarships or the cost of books would make me quit school!

That's a very good idea.

what also sucks is textbooks with online components that are required.

my psych class uses such a book and even if i were to somehow manage to locate the PDFs, i still wouldn't have the online account. and i'm not gonna risk getting a used copy either, what if that doesn't work?

but at least i found 4/5 books for my philosophy class online, the last one isn't even in the bookstore!

It's such a load of crap. Last semester I needed four books for the tune of $760

This semester I only needed two though, but it still cost >$400
