Is this a good set?

http://www.djmart.com/stmadi.html

I admit to been an mp3 pirate and burning alot of CDs, but would that set be pretty good? I don't have enough money to buy vinyls, so I've been looking at CD TT's. Anyway, is that a good setup or should I get something better?

Seriously, it's a lot better just to save up and buy the better equipment instead of getting shitty stuff sooner and giving up because your equipment sucks, or having to replace it in a couple months.

i totally agree... your better off making an investment when your able too... the good stuff will last you a life time provided you take care of it... i've had my tech 1200's for about 7 years now.. haven't had a single problem with them... go for quality.

I also agree... It's better to wait an extra month or two and have the quality. It'll save you in the long run, and it's just sooo much nicer to mix on better decks. Sorry to say, but that pack is just cheap toys IMO.

don't get the crap, save some more money or buy something else.

I don't have that big a budget either, can only buy a few records a month, but still i'm glad i chose to go for vinyl. Gives me a better feeling with the music. Anyway, also for your own sake, if they ever catch u spinnin' copies @ small gigs or something, ur gonna pay a whole lot more.

if you buy the best and in two years you find you still don't want to do it then as long as you have kept the equipment in good condition, you'll get a fair bit back,

Exactly, people always seem to feel better when buying second hand stuff if it's quality.

yo man heres what i did, i allready had cds and i was in a place that it \was hard to get vinil so i bought some cd decks first and a mixer, but if your gonna get cd decks at least get some crappy ones the ones above are shit, i recomend the american audio psx or some of their other ones like it depending on how much money you have, then i bought the vinil decks later on, this way i know how to play on both mediums and i dont have to go around bitching about whats better or not to justify my purchass , both tipes of setups have their plus's and minus's but if you wanna be anywher near pro you gotta at least play some vinil, so yea basicaly dont get those, save up, buy cd decks or vinil decks and a decent mixer (any of behringers are usualy good) practice with one maby do a few house partys then buy the other medium you dident buy, Just dont buy crap or else youll spend all your money upgradeing

I can agree with pretty much everyone. I was in the same boat as you (Lack of cash). The thing is, not to rush. If you buy spaciously you won't get yourself in a hole. You can even start out with mid-price equipment, keep it in good shape, save up, then sell it and get about half back to buy techs and such... That's what I did/am doing and it's working fine. CD DJing didn't appeal too much to me, but I think I'm gonna get some CD tables eventually so that I can spin songs that I can't get on vinyl. I see that's what alot of people on the forums do. Bottom line: Go vinyl, then when you're set, by a CD deck or two...

Ok, I'll take your guyses advice. Since my previous plans on making off to canada were found out by my mom, I now have more to spend. My mom's an eBay junkie, so should I convince her to buy a quality second hand mixer off there or something? DJ Mart looks kind of expensive...($150 USD FOR HEADPHONES?!)
