Hehe if you were putting in a tt, it'd be pretty hard to keep it from skipping all the time.

Pioneer makes good head decks. Might as well get one that can play MP3s if thats your thing too. Other good brands include Eclipse, higher end Clarion, alpine. I know some ppl that swear by Sony but a lot of ppl think they are overpriced. I know two ppl that have that same HU you are lookin at and they like it but I couldnt tell u firsthand. If you shop around u should be able to get stuff on the net cheaper than stores though. My recommendation would be to check out some stores for yourself and listen to various HUs and mess around with them. Those flip ones seem more practical if you have a changer and dont need to be flippin the face every couple hours.

If your gonna play your speakers with the HU looks for high RMS power and look for multiple outputs for adding external amps later on. I'd probably always add an external amp on though with any HU, just better power going to the speakers.

1. Its not called a "deck" its a Head Unit or HU.

2. I've heard nothing but bad things about Sony HU. noobs alway seem to want to buy them for some reason maybe cause of big name and lots of ads for them.

3. buy anything but sony then pick the features that r most important ie radio reception, cd, mp3,...

4. imhop i'd spend $200 on HU and put the extra $100 towards good component speakers in the front like a nice set of infinities

I've heard nothing but good about Alpine head units. When I go to get one I'm going to drop $250-300 on it probably. The rule for anything you get for a car: You get what you pay for.

Alpine all the way man. I've never had a problem with them. I had one for like 3 years and it was still running strong when it got jacked from my car. I went ahead and bought an MP3 compatible one to replace it and it doesnt get any nicer, hours of music without ever changing the CD. Here's a link for ya.

only $209.

go for either clarion, alpine or eclipse. they are great hu's that are well made and provide a nice clean sound.
I personally have the clarion dxz835mp and fully recommend it, great deck visual and listening wise
