You have to fix some serious problems with the frequences, or maybe it's just my speakers?
Nice melody and piano sounds good. This track could become something awesome if it had the right touch...

cool little song. there is some distortion when the track kicks back in which i assume is due to the compressor not catching it after a breakdown.

Melody is kinda catchy and the sounds are nice but you need to do some work on the bassline. I just don't notice it at all and it makes the track seem a little dry and weak.

Are you using a compressor on the master channel. If you are, I would say that this is the cause of the distortion. During a breakdown, the compresor sees the signal as being quite weak and below the threshold. Because it is below the threshold when there is no kick, it is inactive. When the kick comes back in, it does not react fast enough to catch it and so it start clipping. If you have a gain on the compressor setting, then this probably send the uncompressed signal through the roof.

It could either be that you are using a dodgy compressor, or, that the attack on the compressor is too long. Try shortening up the attack on the master compressor to see if this solves the problem. If it doesn't, then maybe its just a dodgy compressor.

If you aren't using a master compressor, then I have no idea why it is doing it.

compressors usual causes distortion if used in the wrong way, yeah. Sometimes the frequences of some sounds/samples causes distortion too, experienced a few times myself. But I think the compressor is the main reason for this... maybe.

listened to it and you should check if the kicks/synths are the reason for it, that's what I think at least.

Overall I really like it. Around 2:46-2:56 it seems to get pretty fuzzy there is a lot of distortion, is that supposed to be there? Anyway, keep up the work

It's a good song but the distortions killing it. Do you have a compressor on the master track or on individual tracks? If it's on the master maybe try finding the exact tracks that are cause the distortions (it's more than one track) and putting separate compressors on these. That could help with the distortion, while keeping the rest tracks unharmed by the compressor. Bear in mind this takes more processing power. Or you could do what Cheggy suggested by lowering the attack time. Love to hear it once it's fixed.
