OK no offence, he has nice mixes, but surely not in my top 10. Maybe I'm one of the few who actually dont like him. I was at Innercity (30-12-2000). I have to say that I found it a regular set. But that's my oppinion. Maybe you have some suggestions??
Let me know, and maybe I change my oppinion!

I like him because his sets are always very solid, and usually have one or two absolutely amazing tracks thrown in that I haven't heard before.
ie. VIP 3000 - The Combat (the one with starcraft samples), the first track on @home (which no one has ID'd yet ), the mix he did @ innercity with underworld - born slippy and so forth!
Plus his sets usually have alot of energy, unlike Tiesto's (sorry people)
On a related note, can someone suggest a good tiesto set that might un-sour my opinion of him?

Pvd surely im the top 10 !
I am agree with Morbius!
Superb sets with full of energy. He can mix in different styles, more or less progressive with the vinyls, but it is always on top.
For on angel is also in the top 10 ever!

Oh god Mind! For and Angel is probabally one of my favorite tracks, its not commercial in california at ALL and it never was. "For an Angel" by PvD and "Children"& "Fable" by Robert Miles are my favorite Trance songs. Why can't anyone think of them as real trance? I'm including Robert Miles as well because a few weeks ago people were dissing him for being commercial. Darude is also commercial, but not here as much in america. I'm not sick of Darude or any of these songs listed above.

that's your opinion, i've got mine. for me is it comercial, in switzerland for sure it is! here @ the clubs you would never hear of darude or "for an angel" by PvD and definatly NOT roberts miles. here it's just commercial and no-one think that it's trance!
just my opinion, maybe in california is it trance (?)

Sorry Mind-X, but those 2 are Trance and you can't change that. Trance is so large, you can't make a definition out of it. When you heard Darude for the first time, you can't see you didn't like it. Only problem with that song is that it had overtime on the radio. I still agree with Positiva. Trance isn't as big as in America as it is in Europe. And to compare Swiss with Holland...Oh man, where shall I start. So never judge any one about his music taste. If everybody is this world would like Venga Boys, Man... How f***ed-up will that be. So respect every ones taste. Change your attitude or you become Mind- 0 for me!!!

PVD sets seem to be hit or miss with me, some sets I will absolutely love, others are pretty poor in my opinion. Still, I download them all and listen to them whenever I get the chance to, so I guess that says something about the quality of his work.

Its a good DJ but like many others he´s way overrated. Sure you can always have a good time when Paul´s behind the wheels of steel but I don´t think he´s great

wow.... to me i never really was into Paul van dyk ..until i saw him live and may i say he is a genius behind those turntables...... he knows exactly what tune to play at the right time for the crowd...and seriously his crowds are insane!!i seen him 3 times already and all three times are probably in my Top 5 parties i have seen... and i seen many of the top djs!! to me he is my all time fav Dj mayb not fav producer but surely dj....... and for the comment about For An Angel not being Trance...wow thats a shocker.. to me thats song defines trance it self and Commerical why do people say when a tune becomes commerical its not Trance thats a bunch of B.S commerical just means it has been exepted to a more variety of listeners...and no way does that determine the Genre of the song!!...even though Paul Van Dyk doesnt like to call his music trance...but to me its Pure CLassic trance....people can say Oakenfold or Sasha or Digweed is the GOd of All Trance....well in my mind Paul Van Dyk is the God of trance !!
