You'd prolly be pretty safe to get almost any set from him, cuz I would bet he uses the effects on the 'Industry Standard' mixer in every set...

One of the best skillwise outside of Hip Hop. Among the likes of like Erol Alkan, 2 Much DJ's (not 100% hiphop), Z-Trip (not 100% hiphop), Freaky Flow, Bad Boy Bill, etc. Some of these guys have done or do things that Dave probably won't be able to do ever.

Slightly more skilled, because of his beat juggling and use of effects, than people like Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills, Tiga, and Carl Cox too I guess. Dave can do everything these guys do, except better.

That's just my take on things at the moment, i'm not saying how things are since I really don't know enough...heh.

Just pray that he doesn't feel like ruining every 3rd record he plays with it, like he has a tedency to do nowadays with his rather lazy attitude towards DJ sets. When he gets it right however, it's rather wicked (Frank Biazzi - Turbulence @ Dance Valley for instance).

There is a 10 minute video of clark doing the rounds somewhere from a nightclub in eastern europe.

what he does with turbulence in that video is nothing short of miraculous.

It pleases me to see this topic I'm a pretty big dave fan, a huge one even. I've posted this be4 somewhere; the best beat juggling i've heard from him is during his set at I Love Techno 2001, near the end of the set he beat juggles a trance/techno track on and on towards a magnificent climax. Simply divine !

I have never heard anything he has done. I don't know how that is possible, but that's the case. I don't think he has ever played in Denver, and I don't download any music myself. What style does he play? I wanna guess techno, if he uses the effects a lot.

Techno and electro are his main styles, which is what allows him to work the mixer as much as he does. Check the tracklist archives to find out what sort of tracks he plays, there are a handful of extremely clever techno trainspotters there who keep nailing every set he does that's broadcasted.

I love techno, but the problem is that I don't know most of the producers. I haven't started shopping much techno yet, and that's how I really get to know genres producers. I have a good grasp on progressive, trance, breaks, and some hard trance/house, but not yet techno. I need to get a live set of his to jam out either way. I have been jammin a couple live Picotto and Marco V sets, and I love the banging techno. The one all techno show I was fortunate enough to go to was @Privilege in Miami during WMC. Smith, Selway, Mistress Barbara, Marco Bailey, Christian Varela, and Preach. It was kick ass!
