I use and abuse buzz on a regular basis. It has it's many issues, but compared to anything else I've used there's just nothing I can bang out beats in faster. Aside from that though, I pretty much exclusively use VST instruments for my synths and basslines, and samples for all of my beats and percussions, so I just use a few of the simpler effects built into Buzz. I'm playing around with Logic now and plan on eventually moving over to that or protools, but I can't see myself ever fully abandoning buzz; at the very least I'll use it to make my drum beats as I find the tracker-like interface to be awesome for that sort of thing.

Most likely has to do with the generators you're using. Try using a good VST instrument and it'll sound as good in Buzz as it does in anything else.

Buzz is about as fundamental as it gets. Also, Being tupperware GUI free, instead of validating your talents as a musician through sparkly Jolly Rancher graphics, you can get on with buisiness running 20+ Z3ta's. Without buffering clicks. ( Ok, I'm done, )
Anyway.. Sometime's It's tinny sounding but thats because you're hearing crude oscillators without any effects processing, but buzz let's you run infinite boats of effects really conveniently. Not to mention it's opensource, so even if you're not interested in writign machines, there are a million peopl eout there who do, so you have a diverse assortment of processors.. You kind of get familiar with your favorites and learn to use each one for qualities.. Or lack thereof.
Buzz is easy : )
I converted a hardcore Reason kid to Buzz just recently. He's on this forum, so if he wants to be mentioned, I will assume that he will speak up. He doesn't use all vst's in buzz too, so if he desides to crawl out of his PCC hole (inside..) and talk to us, you can hear his music and what he does with the buzz machines.
Or you could go to www.Buzzmachines.com
I feel like I'm promoting.. ahaha
