if u have dae drive, then it rips super-quick!!!...like 14-16x speed on mine

very easy to use too...but it writes both id3 v1 & v2 tags on mine, i can't figure how to select only one

...sorry i don't have cdrwin, so i don't know about it

Askin' for help with CDRWIN again, are we?

No, you can't use CDRWIN to rip cds into mp3s, the program was intended for burning & copying only. You can, however, copy an audio CD with it.

For ripping to mp3, I suggest using EAC (Exact Audio Copy) & the LAME mp3 codec. I made a "fully loaded" package with it all setup (it can be a little confusing for a novice)... you just need a few steps to make it work properly:

1) Download my package from here: http://members.home.net/goodnet-rm/EAC+LAME.zip
2) Extract the zip file to a directory on your HD
3) Open EAC.exe from the directory, and goto EAC>Compression options>Click on "External Compression" tab>Click on "Browse" (where it says 'Program, including path, used for compression')
4) Locate & select lame.exe (it's in the same directory where you extracted the zip file!)
5) Click on OK

To rip, highlight the track(s) you want, right-click the highlighted tracks, and select "Copy Selected Tracks..."

Goodnet is right. Eac(exact audio copy) coupled with lame produces the best quality mp3's. It may take a while but, its well worth it.
