Barber's Adagio for strings(Ian Vennes Remix)

Should I finish it up ? I really want this one on CD (personal copy for spinning, not on a label or anything), and I would like to share it with everybody if that's legal. But damn this is so hard to tweak . I don't know if I can save this one at the moment

Here's a cut from the track, please let me know how you feel about the song, would love to hear what you think of it so far !

I guess, you had a good idea, but try to ease up on the postproduction. It would be a good mix, you just have to mix properly (eq, compression, effects...)

Still needs some serious mixing into it... sounds very chaotic for the moment.

It's weird, I can't tell the difference between each channel. Maybe it has been overcompressed. Either way, it makes it difficult to listen to when there is such a lack of dynamics.

Sounds like you've got the right idea though. Maybe if you could fix it up then repost it.

Wow I listened to it again this morning, I'm almost ashamed, almost though, not yet

I'll update it with a fresher version. Thank you for your input, the next update will be far better, I hope

BTW : Is it ok for a remix to take a part from the original as an intro ? I just totally love the strings, is it ok to use it just intro-wise ?

Sample :

DOWNLOAD

Please let me know what you think of it.

Also for the really friendly people : At the end I add an arpeggio .. from hell or something. Was just wondering if it sounds ok or not. It will not just bump in like it does now, it will kick in with some nasty special effect, so let me know !

Cheers

Of course there are, but not in that part A bit mechanical huh ? I'll try to fix that, but I'm trying to make it MY remix, and not the same as the ferry corsten and other remixes, I'm already thinking of removing the strings to make it less original. But then again it's a nice opening for a mix

Well, it's definitely different than the standard strings stuff I don't know, I think I can give a better opinion when you add the beats and percussion to it. I really think this has potential, but the sounds are too 'raw' for me.

Am I wrong or is Tiësto's remix the inspiration for your version
