is that what im looking for? Are these better then getting a simple midi keyboard with no buttons or sliders on it(dont know how they help)
basically Im using Cubase, and soft synths and i just want to make melodies instead of writing out the notes in piano roll
i hope im giving enough info
thanks

Well I'm sure they all work fine. I have a different one than that you mentioned but they all do the same thing. They are definitely helpful in making melodies, especially if you're using Cubase.
The buttons and sliders make it easier to control synths. you can assign the knobs/sliders to parameters in the VSTi so that you can control them from your controller.

I have the radium 49 key, it works great and its a good controller, nice faders and good knobs. reason i got this one instead of the other 2 was because the guy at guitar center recomended it to me
i would either go with the edirol or the radium, ignore the remote (in my opinion).
yes it will be easier to create melodies, but still dont expect them to pop into your fingers/head
alright so the radium 49 would be totally fine for what i need?

try learning some music theory to get good melodies.. I have a MIDI controller (25 key) but mainly use it to record automation with it's knobs..
every now and then I "jam" on it to see how a patch sounds or something.. but the melodies I use in my songs are sequenced.. not played out and then sequenced..
