Hardcore: Joe Kurve - Khemikal Awakenings (Sytek Remix)
I heard this track, 'Khemikal Awakenings' by Joe Kurve a while back now. It's Psy Trance which isn't really my thing but I loved it. Anyway I asked the guy if I could have a bash at remixing it under my Hardcore guise, 'Sytek,' and he kindly supplied the midi.
So here it is, enjoy. Constructive criticism welcome as always.
Interesting choice of instruments for hardcore. I don't normally associate strings with hardcore music. Sounds kinda cool. Intro piano melody reminds me of a Michael Jackson song, but I can't put my finger on it (beat it?).
Up to 6 minutes, its been pretty darn repetitive. You need to vary it up a little bit. At 6:30, the new lead comes in which is needed.
Anyway, for hardcore, your song was increadibly peaceful. It just needs more in it to give it some variation.
I like the piano and strings though.

thanks for taking the time to comment.
With regard to it being too 'peaceful' Hardcore in the UK is now a very broad genre, with new styles such as 'Trance-core' and so takes many forms, but I see your point.
I can be repetitive I agree but again this is common in modern UK Hardcore, the ravers go for the hooks.
Not to bad, it almost sounds kinda like an oldschool hardcore tune. But I think that this tune is a bit too trancy even though I know there's Trancecore, maybe it would be better off just Trance. But if you added some more nrg or some samples to it it could be much beter 6.5/10. Good job tho.

I can't get enough of it. Sounds VERY MUCH like a song I heard somewhere else, but I can't quite remember who wrote it. Great job tho, very "trance-core"; bravo. Thanks for remixing my track, Sy.
